The Cascades are a mountain range that extends over 700 miles from Northern California through Oregon and Washington and into Canada. The range includes both non-volcanic mountains and notable volcanic mountains such as Mt. Rainier, the highest mountain peak in Washington State. The Cascade Range is named for waterfalls – hundreds of which carry water from winter rains and melting snow over cliffs and down streams. No mountain is too tall to overcome with Cascade.
